Be the Change!

‘Be the Change you want to see in the World’ Mahatma Ghandi

Hi Folks

Have you ever thought about what a difference your act of kindness to another makes not only to the person you are being kind to, but the ripple effect your selfless, loving act has on the planet?

For e.g. A homeless, filthy, smelly rotten toothed man is also walking your way, but you believe he is following you and your friend in Central Park, New York. You’ve nowhere to run, and in fact, how do you know that he even wants to hurt you? Your neurons have gone into overdrive, you are afraid, and you are praying that a policeman might show up.

He, on the other hand, only wants to be recognised as a human Being, not as a non existent piece of junk. The look in his eyes cry out for comfort, for his life is one of continuous hardship, cold, hunger and extreme loneliness.

Suddenly, for reasons you cannot fathom, you stop and turn around to greet him. His eyes grow wide in terror as he cries ‘Please, I want no trouble, I don’t want to go to jail!!’ and you put both your arms on his shoulders, then calmly, but firmly, you say to him ‘calm down, there’s no police,  calm down’. Again you see how terrified he is, and so you do not take your hands off of his shoulders, as you slowly but calmly tell him that he is loved, he matters, he is worthy. ( A minute ago, you were praying for Police!)

Around 30 or so minutes later, you are laughing with him. His toothless grin is appealing in a strange way, and he tells you he is hungry. So you empty your wallet for him, because he needs clean clothes too, never mind a shower or bath, but you cannot risk taking him home, because you don’t know him, and after all, you need to get to know his story.

You part ways, having made a new friend, and promise to meet him at the same place the next day. What you don’t know is that your incredible selfless, loving act towards a complete stranger, has upped the vibrations in Central Park, and could have reached another one who was struggling. Every act of love and kindness has a ripple effect.

Most people would laugh and say ‘HAH, he’s taking advantage of you, what a fool you are’!! but it’s people with that sort of mind set that have made the world the cruel, harsh, selfish place it is today.

When Mahatma Ghandi said ‘Be the Change you want to see in the world’.….he meant for people to show acts of kindness as you did. To make the world a place that is kind, loving, unselfish, caring, just as you did for the homeless man. It’s people like you who make flowers bloom, birds sing, save lives, bring hope to the hopeless, and give without question.

Our planet lives on vibrations. Where there is a vibration of love, anywhere on the planet, food grows better, people are healthier, water is fresh, birds populate the area, life is sweeter, and life is happier. Where there are places with low or selfish vibrations, like the warmongers, food doesn’t grow, insects eat the plants, birds leave the area and people live in constant depression.

Mahatma Ghandi was right. The Change starts with you. No judgement on why a person has or hasn’t got, you don’t know their story.

Talking to God?

20160319_192927[1].jpg

Hi Folks

Why do we pray? and who do we pray to? According to statistics there are roughly 4200.00 religions around the world, and each one of them swear that their religion is ‘thee’ one.

Here are the stats of the most common organised religions in the world today;

Rank Religion Members
1. Christianity 2.1 billion
2. Islam 1.3 billion
3. Hinduism 851 million
4. Buddhism 375 million

So what religions make up the rest of the thousands? Well there are tiny sects, larger ones, but aren’t large enough to be put on the scale. each walks his own path in his own way.  It seems a huge hypocrisy to fight about who is right and who is wrong about a God that every Western religion ultimately believes will save them from burning in the fires of hell.

While all religions, (except the passive ones, like Buddhism for e.g.) are yelling traitor!!! at each other, what does this say about them?

Some religions believe that meditating is bad or ‘the devils work‘, as they think it allows demons into your Soul. And this is taught to children. It has been my experience that the most passive and loving people meditate daily, and want not for anything.= No greed.

Mahatma Ghandi said ‘I love your Christ, but I don’t like your Christians’. Incidentally, Christ was never a Christian.

In 330 A.D., Roman Emperor Constantine I chose Byzantium as the site of a new Roman capital, Constantinople. Five years earlier, at the Council of Nicaea, Constantine had established Christianity (once an obscure Jewish sect) as Rome’s official religion.

Columbus spearheaded the transatlantic slave trade and has been accused by several historians of initiating the genocide of the Hispaniola natives. Columbus himself saw his accomplishments primarily in the light of spreading the Christian religion.

So truthfully, and without judgement, in the name of Christianity, Columbus started the slave trade, and slaughtered millions! Just as, in the name of Allah, suicide bombers run around blowing themselves, buildings and people up. All this destruction, hate, bloodshed and war, in the name of the same God, worshipped in different ways.

Oh, and don’t start me on the amount of money you can make by ‘selling God’….those preachers make so much money it’s a joke, but the truly tearful thing is that a desperate old penniless woman will give her last penny to the Church, in the hopes of not burning in the hell she’s been terrified into believing in. But on the other side of the coin, religion brings comfort to many, and so that can’t be that bad.

I realise I’m taking a chance writing this, as I may be condemned, but I’ve made none of it up, and it sure is interesting reading.

Love and peace to you all

What is mental Illness?

Hi Folks

I wasn’t sure what to blog about today. Many thoughts came to mind, like; interior decor, peace, world peace, politics, love etc etc, but all of that seemed trivial to what I really want to talk about, which is…Mental Ilness.

What is mental illness? Do you know? Is it a condition where there’s a crazy person who doesn’t brush their hair, bath, or change their clothing, sitting on the couch all day, chain smoking? well, yes, some mentally ill, are so ill, that’s exactly what they do. But then there are the well dressed Wall Street Moguls, who you’d never ever guess were mentally ill. Who present themselves in Carducci suits, cadillacs drop them at work, and the last thing you’d believe is that some of these men and women are mentally ill. As it is with some movie stars.

Mentall illness comes in many forms. Depression is deemed as a mood disorder, which falls under mental illness. Bipolar, Borderline personality disorder, Scizo affective disorder, PTSD………the list is long, and many people who are suffering from one or another kind of mental illness, don’t even know it! They wonder why they don’t want to face another day, and blame it on work, their partners, money, etc….when actually, it’s the illness most of the time.

quotes-tth-ayana-mathis-09-600x411

There is no shame in admitting you are not well, if you are diagnosed with a mental illness. The thing is, you want to get better. For yourself, as well as your loved ones. That is and must be your priority. Many people decide to take to the bottle or hard drugs, and use the excuse of being mentally ill as their reason. NOT good enough! It’s a hard road to get to remission; i.e. no ‘ups or downs’ and just being stable. No depression, but rather, looking forward to the day, but you have to put work in. Tablets alone won’t just ‘make it go away’.

When you get to the end of your life, do you really want to say ‘Well, I sat on the couch smoking all day, best that I could do’, with a miserable face, while your partner and kids look on tearful and broken? Or do you want to say ‘I got better! Sure there’s no cure, but I got myself into remission, and I used the tools my therapist gave me when I hit the down days, and made my family happy, I had fun!’ and your family feel good.

Don’t throw your life away due to a mental illness. Don’t let it win. You are the Captain of your Soul, remember that. Most of all, love yourself. You are a precious Being of the Universe, and you have a right to be here, just as anyone else has. xFreedom

with love

I’m hurting to the core………..

Mama doesn’t hear me

and I still hear the dustbin clatter

Mama doesn’t want me

Tell me does it matter?

Mama fights with Daddy, all day I hear her screaming

And I hide by the big old oak tree my tears down my face are streaming.

I sit quietly by that tree, just like a little mouse

My tummy hurts cuz I’m hungry as a horse

But no one knows what goes on in my ramshackled house

no one would care of course.

If I died an angel would come and take me up to heaven

And Jesus would sit me on his lap and feed me bread that’s leven

Please dear Jesus take me, I can’t take no more

Daddy’s coming for me, I’m hurting to the core.

child crying

(Dedicated to all the people who’ve come from abusive homes and are now fighting mental illness as a result)

Till next time
